2023-2024 Texas Influenza Surveillance Activity Archives

DSHS has combined the individual weekly flu, RSV, and COVID-19 surveillance reports into one report effective Friday, January 19, 2024. The combined report will be titled the Texas Respiratory Virus Surveillance Report. The combined report contains all the data from the three individual reports and will be posted every Friday on the Texas Respiratory Virus Surveillance Report page.

Summary

*This report excludes COVID-19 data. For information about COVID-19 in Texas visit COVID-19.
Compared to the previous week, the percentage of specimens testing positive for influenza reported by hospital laboratories has increased. The percentage of patient visits due to influenza-like illness (ILI) has decreased. One influenza-associated pediatric death was reported. Three influenza-associated institutional outbreaks were reported in a long-term care facilities.
