Training Events

The work of dedicated cancer reporters like you makes it possible for researchers to determine cancer incidence in populations, identify health disparities, and so much more. To support your commitment to the field of cancer reporting, the Texas Cancer Registry (TCR) offers basic and specialized training, advanced workshops, and software training. Dates, locations, and topics are posted on the website as they become available. To request training, please complete our training request form.

2024 Statewide Training (April 15, 2024 – May 28, 2024)

TCR is excited to sponsor the 2024 Statewide Training with Denise C. Harrison, LLC for Texas reporters. This live webinar series is designed for intermediate- and advanced-level cancer reporters who want to grow their abstracting and coding skills.

To view details and register for each session, click the corresponding registration links. You must register for each live webinar separately. Each webinar, except for Webinar 6: Q&A, will be offered twice. When you register, please be sure to select the option for the day you wish to attend. Both will cover the same information.

Once you are registered, you will receive a confirmation email that provides information on how to join the live webinar. A reminder email with the presentation materials will be sent out one week prior to each live session. In order to receive the presentation materials, please do not wait to enroll on the day of the live webinar.

Three Category ‘A’ CEs have been requested for five of the webinars and 1.5CEs for the Q&A webinar, for a total of 16.5 CEs for the complete webinar series. Below you will find the NCRA CE Tracking Form to be submitted upon completion of the webinars.

TCR is pleased to sponsor the NAACCR ODS Exam Preparation and Review Webinar Series for 2024 for Texas candidates who plan to sit for the ODS Exam July 19^th – August 10th, 2024.

Through an agreement with TCR, NAACCR is offering the webinar series at the discounted price of $60 to Texas Cancer Reporters who pre-register with TCR and are planning to sit for the ODS Exam July 19^th – August 10^th, 2024. The fee is payable directly to NAACCR when registering for the course.

To receive the discounted rate, complete TCR’s ODS Exam Prep Enrollment Code Request. You will receive an email about the discount and further instructions to complete the NAACCR registration process within a week of completing the form.
